Does insulation need waterproofing as well?

Yes. Insulation that becomes wet loses much of its thermal performance, so an exposed insulation layer is always protected by a coating or membrane, and the two are specified together.

Which insulation suits cold stores?

Cold stores need continuous insulation with a reliable vapour control layer to prevent interstitial condensation and ice build-up; the system is chosen for the operating temperature and the panel or substrate involved.

Can insulation be added to an existing roof?

Often yes. After a survey to confirm the deck condition and the existing waterproofing, an overlay build-up can be installed without stripping the whole roof.
