What is polyurea coating and when should it be specified?
Polyurea is a 100% solids, plural-component elastomer sprayed hot at high pressure. It gels in seconds and forms one seamless membrane with no laps or joints, which is why it suits reservoirs, containment bunds, podium decks, industrial roofs and assets that cannot be shut down for long. It is specified where fast return to service, crack-bridging elongation and chemical or abrasion resistance matter. Performance depends entirely on substrate preparation and the correct primer, so every project starts with a survey and adhesion checks.

What is polyurea coating and why is it used in the UAE?
Polyurea is a two-component, 100% solids elastomer sprayed hot at high pressure. It cures in seconds, forms a seamless membrane with no laps or joints, and tolerates UAE surface temperatures above +70 °C and high UV without cracking — which is why it outperforms sheet membranes on exposed roofs, podiums and tanks.
How much does polyurea coating cost in the UAE?
Cost depends on the system specified (liquid PU, hot-spray polyurea or sheet membranes), the required dry film thickness, the amount of substrate preparation and priming, access and working hours, detailing around penetrations, and the warranty period. TEXSA issues a fixed lump-sum price after a free site survey rather than a rate quoted blind.
How long before the surface can be used again?
Polyurea is tack-free in under a minute and normally accepts foot traffic within an hour and full service load within 24 hours — the fastest return-to-service of any waterproofing system.
Can polyurea be applied over an existing membrane?
Often yes, subject to adhesion and moisture testing. We carry out pull-off tests and a trial patch before committing; where the existing system is saturated or delaminated we remove it rather than trap the defect.
Is polyurea safe for potable water tanks?
Yes, when a certified potable-grade (WRAS or NSF/ANSI-61) product is specified and applied to the manufacturer's DFT with full holiday testing and flush-out procedure. We supply the certification with the handover dossier.
Do you cover all seven emirates?
Yes. Our spray fleet is based at our Mussafah workshop and mobilises to all seven emirates, including remote Al Dhafra and East Coast sites.
